Thurston County Market Report

March 2020

The real estate market for March in Thurston County, and all over, experienced some turbulence in late March due to COVID-19. Here’s what happened and what it means for homeowners, and those looking to sell or buy…

Initial slowing of market at the onset of shelter in place orders.

Activity then resumed with safety protocols but at a reduced pace compared to the previous year.

Seller's still listing, with fewer new listings compared to previous year.

Buyers still purchasing, more buyers purchasing than new listings available.

Homeowner values held steady.

The supply of homes remained very low.

The outlook from many is fewer homes exchanging hands April-May until a strong rebound in Q3.
